WELCOME
We specialize in quality Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats located just outside of Burnet, Texas. On our small, 14 acre family farm we spend a great deal of time caring for our animals. We breed our Nigerian dwarf goats for correct conformation and generous dairy character.
Nigerian Dwarf Goat History
The Nigerian Dwarf Dairy goat is a miniature goat breed with an average weight of approximately 60 pounds and height of 21 inches at the withers (shoulders). These goats originated in West Africa. They were originally imported to the United States as food for large cats in zoos. They quickly gained popularity in zoological institution's petting zoos due to their small stature and friendly personalities. Over 20 years of refining this breed has resulted in a small, manageable dairy goat that can produce a generous amount of milk for its size. Does can produce an average of 1.5-3 quarts of milk per day with an average butterfat content of 6.5-10% which is perfect for both cheese and soap-making. Nigerian Dwarf goats breed year-round, therefore a small homestead can always depend on having a steady supply of milk. We look forward to being able to share these sweet and versatile animals with you.
